Meet Your Teachers

Christian Carranza

Sustainability Engineer

As a Bioconstructor Engineer and Natural Resources Manager, Christian has been dedicated to promoting Bioconstruction in Costa Rica for over 10 years. He has participated in the creation of intentional communities and was the Engineer in charge of La Ecovilla, both in the creation of the concept and in the development of the infrastructure. Christian has led the design and construction of naturally built houses in that community and others. He is a specialist in bamboo structures, natural materials, clay building techniques, natural repellents, living ceilings, and other sustainable and alternative building techniques.

Christian loves to share knowledge through workshops. He is the founder of Bioconstruccion Selvas CR, is a member of the collective Tacotal and an ecologist at heart. When not building or designing, Christian is a percussionist, DJ, Acroyogui and master brewer as the creator of Ginger Elixirs in Costa Rica.

Jack Geier

CJI CEO

With a passion for healthy living and sustainable development Jack has managed and delivered projects in North America, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. As a certified Project Manager Professional Jack has led the design, construction, and logistics for over two dozen hospitality products and more restaurants; co-working office complexes; large scale organic farms; marine construction; restaurants; renewable and non-renewable power plants; utility infrastructures; a fully organic and edible golf course; and mixed-use village communities. Jack has built and managed architecture, interior design, project management, purchasing, and administrative teams in nine countries. He currently leads the CJI Group, a collection of companies actioning positive impact projects with a focus on regenerative land development. In his personal time Jack is a yachting captain, private pilot, and ironman distance triathlete. Jack’s focus is providing clients and partners with the resources they need to feel confident their dream is realized through an efficient, clear, and fun process while creating job and learning opportunities for teams around the world.
