Who We Are:
The Role:
We're looking for a Social Media Creator & Manager who is creative, fast, wildly resourceful, gets social media, understands business, and is at least a little obsessed with the natural world.
You'll work with our Director of Brand & Creative Operations and co-founders on brand look, feel, and creative direction — but we're not going to tell you what to post every day.
You need to bring the ideas and run with them.
We have a huge library of conversations with incredible teachers, thinkers, farmers, herbalists, Indigenous knowledge holders, and high-profile podcast guests doing meaningful work in the world.
Part of your job is to help their ideas travel. Find the 30 seconds that gives someone goosebumps, build the hook, edit it beautifully, and help lift their mission.
And sometimes forget the podcast entirely and make a reel about why everyone should be growing mint.
We want a mix of powerful podcast moments, trending social, education, beautiful Earth storytelling, and original ideas that get people stoked about plants, the planet, and being human again.
What You'll Own:
Create and publish approximately 5 pieces/week (~20–24/month) across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
You'll
-
Generate your own content ideas — not wait for assignments
-
Create 8–10 podcast/interview reels per month
-
Create 4–6 original or trending reels
-
Create 6–8 carousels, graphics, or other social-first posts
-
Find the strongest moments inside long-form conversations and turn them into compelling short-form content
-
Create fast, beautiful designs in Canva
-
Write captions in Ecoversity's voice
-
Source tasteful, cinematic B-roll when we don't have footage
-
Capture original nature, garden, farm, or plant footage when possible
-
Schedule and publish across our channels
-
Respond to comments and DMs within one business day
-
Notice what's working and make more of it
Basically:
See the opportunity → have the idea → make the thing → get it into the world.
Where Art Meets Strategy:
Ecoversity is a mission and a business, and social needs to understand both.
During launches and enrollment periods, you'll work with our Director of Brand & Creative Operations, enrollment team, and co-founders to translate business goals into creative social content that actually helps us get there.
You should understand when we're building community, when we're educating, and when we're asking people to enroll — without suddenly making Ecoversity sound like a weird internet marketer.
We need someone who can hold strategy + art + social + Earth at the same time.
A little part witch, part tech, part Matrix Mama.
You understand the algorithm.
You just don't worship it.
Who We're Looking For:
First: you need to be a bit of a nature freak
We mean that with enormous affection. 😂
You don't need a botany degree. But you should probably be someone who talks to plants, speaks water, gets unnecessarily excited about mushrooms, grows something, or regularly stops mid-walk because LOOK AT THAT TREE.
And you need to really get social media.
You probably:
- Constantly have content ideas without someone handing you a brief
- Understand what makes people stop, watch, save, share, and ultimately take action
- Can turn long podcasts into excellent short-form content
- Understand hooks, trends, pacing, storytelling, B-roll, reels, and carousels
- Are fast and genuinely good in Canva
- Have strong short-form video editing skills
- Have excellent visual taste
- Can source footage that feels earthy, cinematic, textured, and real — not like an AI wellness commercial
- Ideally have access to a garden, farm, homestead, or beautiful natural spaces you can occasionally film
- Understand how creative content connects to marketing and enrollment goals
- Can take something from hmmm, I have an idea → posted without five people managing you
- Are quick, responsive, organized, and on it
- Understand cultural humility around Indigenous and traditional knowledge
We'll give you the brand guardrails, business priorities, incredible people, and giant content library.
You bring the ideas, taste, curiosity, social instincts, and initiative.
If your camera roll is 40% nature and making social media for Mama Earth sounds like a ridiculously good job, we probably want to meet you. 🌎
How We Work:
This is an independent contractor, deliverables-based role.
You set your own hours and use your own tools. We care about great work, consistency, communication, and ownership — not tracking how many hours it took you to make a reel.
You'll have a short weekly team touchpoint and work closely with our team during enrollment and launch periods. Otherwise, most collaboration happens asynchronously.
Compensation
$2,600–3,200/month, based on experience and portfolio.
The monthly retainer covers approximately 20–24 social pieces/month, plus content ideation, editing, Canva design, captions, sourcing, publishing, community management, and team coordination.
Work meaningfully beyond this scope — major additional launch pushes, live events, travel, etc. — will be discussed and compensated separately.
We'll review the role, scope, and compensation together after 90 days.
To Apply
We're moving quickly and plan to hire by Friday, August 28.

Social — [Your Name]
Send us:
- Three reels you've edited
Especially podcast/interview edits. Tell us which ones you sourced or shot yourself. - Three graphics or carousels you've designed
- A few sentences about your relationship with the natural world
Tell us what you grow, make, love, tend, wander around in, or nerd out about. - One Ecoversity content idea
What would you make? Where would you get the material? Why would someone stop scrolling?
This matters more to us than your resume.
Paid Trial
Finalists will receive $250 for a short paid creative trial.
We'll give you a theme and access to our world, but not a folder called PERFECT REEL CLIPS FINAL FINAL 2.
You'll have two days to find something and make something.
Because creative work is work, we don't ask people to audition for free.
We're looking for someone who's creative, quick, strategic, resourceful, has great taste, loves Mama Earth, and knows how to get shit done. 🌱
