Thurs, August 26th: (Arrival before 6 AM preferred): From San Jose travel to Puerto Viejo. Take a guided jungle hike to Punta Mona by a native Afro-Caribbean guide while your luggage is shuttled in. Get settled and prepare for a welcome dinner with food grown from the farm & a bonfire.
Fri, August 27th: Hands-on permaculture immersion with Penny, Stephen and the Punta Mona staff. Feel life in an active permaculture community. Get your hands in the dirt.
Sat, August 28th: Continue your hands-on permaculture experience in the morning and have a grand graduation ceremony & fiesta in the evening!
Sun, August 29: Breakfast at Punta Mona and launch from the beach on a private boat back to Puerto Viejo. Travel back to San Jose for free time around the city and stay at a hotel close to the airpot.
Mon, August 30: Departure

Adventure Week Graduation
Mon, August 23rd: (Arrival before 6 PM preferred): Arrive in San Jose and head to your Casa Conde where you will FINALLY meet your classmates. Connect with your fellow permaculture graduates over a big welcome dinner. *Accommodations are included.
Tues, August 24th: Travel outside San Jose for a Grounding/Welcome Ceremony on Alegria's vista, yoga shala. Get EcoVillage Tours of Alegria (Stephen's newest EcoVillage), Ecovilla (featured on Netflix), & Tacotal, an intimate river front eco-community. Complete the evening with a communal dinner & return to your San Jose hotel, Casa Conde.
Wed, August 25th: Travel to the Pacuare River for a full day white water rafting adventure. Have lunch on the water and a communal dinner & night out on the town of Puerto Viejo.
Thurs, August 26th: From Puerto Viejo travel to Manzanillo. Take a guided jungle hike to Punta Mona by a native Afro-Caribbean guide while your luggage is shuttled in by boat. Get settled and prepare for a welcome dinner with food grown from the farm followed song & story around the bonfire.
Fri, August 27th: Hands-on permaculture immersion with Penny, Stephen and the Punta Mona staff. Feel life in an active permaculture community. Get your hands in the dirt.

Mon, August 30th - Sat, September 11th: Punta Mona Permaculture Immersion. Explore and develop ALL your training, while living in community. Rotate between planting, harvesting, cooking, tincture making & more with over 80 species of plants on 80 acres.
Sat, September 11th: Breakfast at Punta Mona and launch from the beach on a private boat back to Puerto Viejo. Travel to Finca Luna Nueva Permaculture Farm.
Sun, September 12th: Tour Finca Luna Nueva Farm: a living classroom and recreational paradise. Enjoy a delicious “farm to table” and regenerative agriculture experience paired with miles of hiking trails through rainforests, farmland, and herbal gardens.
Mon, September 13th Soak in local hot springs & for an afternoon adventure, explore wild waterfalls .
Tues, September 14th: Rested & Rejuvenated, travel to the coastal town of Manuel Antonio to experience its expansive, pristine beach and renown nature preserve.
Wed, September 15th: Visit Villa Vanilla, a diverse and sustainable, biodynamic vanilla farm with a spice tour, epiphyte trail, myriad of birds, flowers & exotic plants. Spend the afternoon on the beach till Sunset.
Thurs, September 16th: Travel Back to San Jose for a night on the town, stay at a hotel close to the airport and farewell dinner.

Covid-19 Statement & Regulations
This event requires all attendees to show vaccine proof or a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours before joining the group in Costa Rica.
*Our rules & regulations regarding COVID-19 with participate with international law at the time period of the event.
The following is aimed to provide clarity for travelers associated with Ecoversity.
The pandemic has catalyzed a global reset in our values, travel patterns, and perspective on global health. Isolation is rampant as the main protocol implemented by government around the world, Ecoversity intends to be a place where community thrives and is considered an important element of optimal mental health, keeping in mind our new reality. That said, we are committed to providing safe spaces for our students with science-based protocols in place to mitigate risk.
COVID-19 Policy & Protocols:
Costa Rica, the international home of Ecoversity, U.S. citizen tourists wishing to enter Costa Rica are no longer required to present the results of a negative PCR test for CV-19. However, all U.S. citizen tourists must still complete an epidemiological Health Pass and provide proof of health insurance to cover any medical treatment and quarantine lodging related to COVID-19 illnesses while in Costa Rica. All students on arrival must sign an agreement to confirm they have personal health insurance as well as abide by our community protocols to keep our collective health as a priority throughout the time spent with Ecoversity in Costa Rica. We will also have weekly community circles to update and keep communication transparent in case we need to quarantine certain or all members within the group.
COVID-19 Related Refunds & Cancellations:
If a student has to cancel or delay their stay with Ecoversity due to borders being shut, flights being canceled, or other situations - OUTSIDE of the control of the student* - Ecoversity will offer a 50% refund, or full credit for another trip (valid for up to 12 months) minus a $350 administration fee, for the days booked that are missed. *Formal documentation from your airline or other agency is required.
If a student has to cancel or delay their stay with Ecoversity due to circumstances - WITHIN their control - such as missed flights, personal health implications, lost interest, or not providing the correct documentation or tests to customs and health officials, there will be no refund or credit offered for the days booked that are missed.
Travel Policy Entering Costa Rica:
* Important update for minors and individuals who are fully vaccinated *
As of August 1, 2021, all tourists under 18 years of age can enter the country without a travel policy.
As of August 1, 2021, all tourists who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and inoculated with Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson can enter the country without a travel policy. The last dose of the vaccine must have been applied at least 14 days before arrival in Costa Rica.
Vaccinated tourists must attach the vaccination certificate to the Health Pass. As proof, vaccination certificates and vaccination cards that contain at least the following information will be accepted:
1. Name of the person who received the vaccine
2. Date of each dose
3. Pharmaceutical house
In the case of U.S. travelers, the “COVID-19 vaccination record card” will be accepted.
Tourists not vaccinated, with incomplete vaccination or vaccinated with a serum other than those admitted by the Costa Rican authorities, must purchase mandatory travel insurance that covers lodging in case of quarantine and medical expenses due to COVID-19 disease as detailed below.
International Policies
Regarding the policy, you can choose any international insurance company that meets the following requirements:
1. Valid during the entire stay in Costa Rica (coverage dates).
2. $50,000 for medical expenses, including COVID-19 disease.
3. $2,000 for lodging expenses in case of COVID-19 quarantine.
Ask your insurance company for a certificate/letter in English or Spanish stating the following:
1. Name of the person traveling.
2. Validity of the effective policy during the Costa Rica visit (travel dates).
3. Guarantee of coverage for medical expenses in case of COVID 19 in Costa Rica, for at least $50,000
4. Minimum coverage of $2,000 for lodging expenses for quarantine or trip interruption for this same amount.
This certificate must specify that the policy covers COVID-19 and must be uploaded to the HEALTH PASS to be reviewed and approved by the Costa Rican authorities. Insurance cards are not accepted, it must be a document that allows the verification of the coverage mentioned.”
Potential Course Risks:
— At times, students will be in close physical proximity to one another and/or instructions.
— There is potential of illnesses on course. Communicable and other infectious disease from insects, animals or people such a diarrhea, flue-like or respiratory illness, and other debilitating or life-threatening conditions including COVID-19 and other diseases caused by coronaviruses may occur.
— The remote locations of our expedition courses are often away from medical facilities. Communication and transportation can be difficult and evacuations and medical care may be significantly delayed.
— Decisions made by the instructors, other staff (including volunteers), contractors, and students will be based on a variety of perceptions and evaluations, which by their nature are imprecise and subject to errors in judgment.

This is an evolving situation and our practices may change as we gain new information or as recommendations change. Ecoversity will decide when and under what conditions any courses will operate using medical advice and our best judgment, and activities or locations of courses may be changed, potentially at the last minute.
